Bicycle Seen on Front of Bus
Chicago – A bicycle was actually sited today on front of a Metro bus. This rare sitting came as the bus passed along congested Michigan avenue. Sittings of this type our considered rare since most people actually ride their bike to their destination, saving in many cases, both time and money.

Bob Smith, A spokes person for the Metro bus company confirmed that after spending 600,000 dollars in 2004 to outfit the entire fleet of buses with bike racks, that not many bus riders have taken advantage of this feature. “We had hoped to lure marginal bike riders or riders who would take the bus to work in the morning and then ride their bikes home.”
Apparently, most bicycle riders in Chicago have just decided that loading their bike on the bus just did not make any sense. When asked about the bike on the front of the bus, several bike riders along Michigan Ave. could not offer any reason why some one would pass up the exercise and pay 2.00 to put a their bike on the bus.
Onboard the Michigan Ave 127 bus, when asked why he had decided to ride the bus with his bike, bus rider Richard Gibbons responded simply “ That he had developed a flat tire” and that “Changing a flat tire on a hot day is a real bitch.”
