By  David  M.  KrukEditor in Chief, Red Tractor USA

Columnist David Kruk

Since some things in the workplace never change,  Red Tractor USA is scouring the nation to build one of the most comprehensive list of workplace colloquialisms.       Ok, we just started and the we live in a big country so if you can think of any to add, please email me at krukd at Redtractor-usa.com* .

  • Another day, another dollar :   Used at the beginning or end of each day, generally in passing, as a response from a coworkers question of "How are you".

  • Money talks, bullshit walks : Used primarily around the time of annual merit increases or salary negotiations.   Never used directly but rather amongst only close associates who are all at the same level.

  • It's not who you know, but who you blow : What else can you say!   Used amongst close associates when discussing the success or failures of their coworkers as related to promotions.

  • It's not who you blow, but who you know : Reverse of above.   Also used amongst close associates when discussing the success or failures of their coworkers as related to promotions.

  • Snooze, you loose :   Has a wide variety of uses in the workplace and many other places.   In the workplace it is most often used in the context of failing to follow up on an action item, or in reference to failing to seek a sought after position or a plum assignment.
