Condi Rice To Resign, Will Develop Computer Game With Bill Gates
Washington, DC –
Secretary of State, Condi Rice announced today her plans to do things
differently than the other Bumblebush dissers. She is going into business with
Bill Gates to develop an exciting new diplomatic software game for the internet
much on the lines of the old stand-by SimCity, a game of city planning and
management.
Rice’s unusual offering,
christened “HotSpot”, is designed for people who think they know more about
diplomacy and inter-government policy than those who do it as a career. Ms. Rice
stated for the record that her game will ...”teach them a thing or two about
what it’s like to be in the driver’s seat when a national-security crisis
explodes. Here they are given a problem, I'm going to call it a Hot Spot in the
world, so to speak.” And over the period of a week's time they’ll be the
national security adviser solving those problems. They find out that all of a
sudden,” she said, “it doesn’t look so easy.”
Software giant and Microsoft
Chairman Bill Gates is the master (and the bucks) behind the Rice plan. His
newly created company, GLOBALRice, will develop the code and publish the
software in 2008, after Secretary Rice finishes up her stint at the Department
of State.
In a joint video press conference and Brahms piano recital,
Rice and Gates trumpeted the idea as revolutionary and predicted its immediate
success for the internet.
Gates touted the “Play God” aspects of the game. “You get to
screw with geography and make mountains and valleys just like the glaciers did.
Then lay the groundwork for your state before a disaster develops and the
terrorists set the whole place ablaze. Now that’s what I like about this game,*
he said with his eyes glazing over.
Ms. Rice, in a rare moment of candid speaking, said “I think
this will end up being very popular in the Mid-east and Asia. All those nations
trying to engage in state diplomacy and taking years and years to get anything
accomplished. With HotSpot they will have only a week to solve their problems,
or they will lose the game. And no one over there wants to be a loser.”
