Mayor Announces New Guidelines For Doing Business
With The City
Mayor Richard M. Daley today announced new guidelines for doing business with the City of Chicago. Faced with recent allegations of corruption in his administration, Mayor Dailey discussed the proposed guidelines today at news conference held at city hall.

The cornerstone of this initiative was a proclamation, that like campaign contributions, the Mayor will cap bribes at $1000 per entity looking to do business with the city.
Additionally, Mayor Dailey indicated that solicitors of business with the city should make all donations in the form of $100 dollar bills and should only pass these monies to city employees in well lit public places.
The Mayor said that “We will no longer accept the status quo and those potential vendors of the city need to fall in line and become more responsible in their business dealing with the city”.
The mayor also requested that minority and woman owned business seeking contracts with the city actually be owned by minorities or woman with “Active” and “Proven” ownership stakes in their businesses
