Fred’08 becomes Fred’09
Lawrenceburg, TN, Sunday, Oct 18 –by Bobzaguy - Fred Thompson
today announced that he would readjust his campaign and run for election to
president in 2009, shaking off the pundits and pr staff members of the complete
list of GOP presidential hopefuls.
“I find that trying to campaign with all this extra clutter
completely blunts my message. I will therefore wait until the 2009 election
comes around. I hope to rise to the top of that candidate list and win the
office.”
Spokesman Todd Harris said, to bolster Thompson’s decision,
“it all came down to a decision between doing the election 2008 cycle or
spending our time gearing up to win in 2009,’’ adding, “Fred opted to spend time
winning 2009 as opposed to what the Beltway MSM expected of us.” For good
measure, Mr. Harris added, “It’s not always about the Beltway pundits, you
know.”
Immediately on announcing his 2009 candidacy, Mr. Thompson
departed with his trophy-laden wife Jeri and 2 kids in a big red bus home to
Tennessee. The family intends to make a stopover at Dollywood for a nice long
lunch and some relax time on the bumper cars.
Quizzed further about the sudden change,
Mr. Harris said, “I know it seems to go against popular thinking, but Fred
seriously believes that the people who really want him to be president will wait
until 2009 to vote for him.” |
