Katie Couric
For President
New York, NY- Soon to be anchor person at CBS, Katie Couric today announced her intentions to run for the president of the Unites States. Riding a wave of unprecedented publicity, media fanfare, and general popularity, Couric announced her presidential ambitions at a news conference in New York today.

Mrs. Couric, 49, indicated that she will seek the presidency on the behalf of the Democratic Party. Her choice of political parties was not a big surprise to many since to most conservatives she is already perceived as being part of the “Liberal media." To most American’s Couric is best know as the bubbly blond co-host of NBC’s Today Show. By running for President Mrs. Couric aims to change her public perception. Mrs. Couric told reporters gathered at New York hotel today "While I am pretty and have a nice smile and a great TV personality, there is far more to Katie Couric than meets the eye."
Already poised to be the first major network television female anchorwoman on September 5th, Couric feels that she has the poise, strength, and communication skills necessary to be the country's first female President. Mrs. Couric also noted that she hoped to follow in the tradition of Ronal Reagan who also well known on television before being elected president.
Politically Mrs. Couric feels that she is a moderate Democrat cable of working with both political parties. She noted that while many conservatives have already labeled her as liberal, it is that kind of divisive rhetoric that has polarized the country.
